Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Femtobytes ("we", "us") for your use of femtobytes.com. By creating an account or using the site you accept them.

What the service is

Femtobytes generates and explains worked solutions to mathematics problems. Parts of the site are free. A paid membership opens every step of every solution.

Your account

You must give a real email address and keep your password private. One account is for one person; sharing a paid account is not allowed. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

Learning, not copying

The site exists to help you understand mathematics. You are responsible for following the rules of your own school, college or university on assessed work. Do not submit our solutions as your own where that is not permitted.

Membership, billing and cancellation

Memberships renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; access continues to the end of the period you paid for. Orders are processed by our payment partner, who is the merchant of record for your purchase and whose terms also apply at checkout. Refunds are described in the refund policy.

Accuracy

Every displayed line of working is checked by software before it is shown, and we work hard to make every explanation correct. Even so, the site is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it is free of errors. If you find a mistake, tell us at info@femtobytes.com and we will fix it.

Acceptable use

Do not copy the site's content in bulk, resell it, scrape it with automated tools, attack the service, or try to reach parts of it you have not paid for. We may suspend accounts that do.

Our content

The explanations, software and design of the site belong to Femtobytes. You may use solutions for your own personal study. You may quote short parts with a link back to us.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law of your country says cannot be removed.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell members by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.
